I love being a closet gay. The only thing that sucks are the fags that like to look “Fabulous.” and most of them don’t look that atractive. That’s why the best place I know to look at realy gay men is at the gym showers, they like taking peeks at other guys’ dicks. The only problem for me is that there are no guys close my age. I’m pretty young and most of the guys at the gym are about thier mid 20s to up.
I’ll have to watch this when I get home from work, but I love that man. Seriously. Back in 2001 there was a free magazine in Minneapolis called The City Pages and I discovered his column in the back that summer…. I read that thing every single week from the time I was 15 up until now. He’s so smart and informative and, realistically, I learned a lot of things about being gay that I wouldn’t have otherwise. Made coming out so much easier.
I totally agree with him! There is SO MUCH THAT I CAN’T DO, SAY, HAVE, SEE, because of being straight…or well…straight for the world. This world will alwayz be a fucked up world! Alas! What God must be feeling to see his creation is not perfect!!
So true what he said. There are a lot of str8 guys that are attracted to guys but instead of exploring that side they got girlfriends and married and had children, some come out later in life, or they go on the “DL”, while others go to the grave never getting a chance to be themselves truly feeling like they lived a lie their whole life. It’s really sad.
^ Lynx, lol you do realize that that’s not what Dan is talking about right? In fact that’s the exact opposite of what he’s talking about. He’s talking about actually straight guys, not guys playing it straight b/c they’re too afraid of the big bad world to be honest **cough** Anonymous shower guy! **cough** What Dan’s talking about here is the fact that str8 men live in a world in which every lil thing they do might be construed as “gay” or makes them worry about their sexuality. Though I do agree w/ your point that it’s sad that guys feel the need to get married and put up that front, that’s just not really what this video is about lol. The question I think needs to be answered here is: Do these guys do this to themselves, or is it the fault of a sexually repressed society that can’t say “Hey it’s fine if one guy gets your engine going, it doesn’t mean anything!!!”?
Adrian you stole my thoughts exactly. lol. This video is NOT about closeted gay men. It’s about straight men being limited by what they can do and how they can explore life because we have a narrow view of masculinity. There’s plenty of things women can do and not have to worry about being called a dyke or being made fun of that are “manly” including hugging, kissing other girls. Straight men can’t do that because they’re afraid of being called gay, which they’re not.
Being a closeted gay guy is NOT the same, because if you’re afraid of being called gay, well…YOU ARE. Your solution is to come out of the closet. lol.
Oh and to answer your question, I think it’s both. It’s society’s fault for making them afraid of being themselves or being made fun of, but they also buy into it. If more straight men would challenge the status quo and stop being so afraid of their friends making fun of them, they’d find that most other men have the same insecurities and feelings that they do, and maybe things will start to change.
It’s kind of like women. They’re limited sexually because they’re afraid being called sluts. But half the time it’s other women that are calling them sluts anyway, meanwhile those SAME women are sexually repressed because THEY don’t want to be called sluts. It’s all a vicious cycle and too many people keep playing into it.
That’s one of the great things about being gay, it sort of frees you of gender roles.
lmao! Thank you Chris, that was great, so funny.. thats the other kinda stuff I enjoy seeing on here

Anonymous, your post reeks of self-hatred. Poor you. Relegated to getting your fix of dick in gym showers for the rest of your life.

Dan Savage is mean, nasty and judgmental. He’s not quite as bad as Perez Hilton, but he’s close to the worst thing that ever happened to gay people.
