  1. This Aguilera animation was probably the last time I was happy for her. She just won Best New Artist at the 2000 Grammys & in my opinion, she knew she was going to win and wore that butterfly emblazend dress as an homage to Mariah Carey, who won the award 9 years earlier. If you look at a list of Best New Artist Winners from 1991-2000, you’ll see that Mariah & Christina are pretty the ONLY ones still making music people want to buy.

    As for the Christina Aguilera thing, she was genuinely shocked, you can tell. That year she was up against Kid Rock, Macy Gray, Britney (and some other old chick. Britney was expected to win and when Christina did she literally had to be shoved out of her chair by Steve Kurts, the guy sitting next to her (her manager at the time).

    FYI.

    Just had to make sure if youre gonna hate, you at least get the facts right. :)

    Christina, on the other hand, I don’t hate. I’m not crazy about her either, tho (she hasn’t released enough music in ten years for me to become a huge fan of). But I am VERY VERY VERY excited for her new album this year! :D

    And that probably was the Grammys when she won Best New Artist, of which everybody thought Britney was gonna win.
