Anyone Seen Anything Good on Broadway Lately?

My birthday’s coming up and I’m trying to figure out what to go see with my friends. I really wanna see Hair because I love the movie and because this clip is awesome.

But I don’t know what other good stuff is out there.

  1. OMG, “Next to Normal” looks ABSOLUTELY amazing!!!!! But that and “Hair” are at the top of my list, so either one is a win!

  7. I would recommend seeing Next to Normal. It’s hilarious and heart wrenching. All of the singing and acting is amazing and Alice Ripley is SOOOO FIERCE!! It’s a wonderful show and a truly modern musical.

  8. If you think you want to see Hair, go with it. I saw it last Wednesday and I loved everrrry minute of it :) Its so fun and entertaining to watch. I’m sure youd love it. Great music and acting, and some eyefulls from some pretty cute guys, I might add ;) Not to mention you’ll laugh your ass off.

  9. You have to see Next To Normal. Great music and Aaron Tveit is AMAZING and hot too. Too bad that his understudy is playing the role of Gabe cos he’s here in Seattle in rehearsals for Catch Me If You Can the musical premiering in a few weeks!

  11. Next to Normal was awesome but Hair was one of the best shows on Broadway. My good friend Sasha Allen plays Dionne and the entire cast is very friendly and talented. If your looking to view a great show and have a wonderful experience…HAIR is it!!

  13. HAIR is excellent. NEXT TO NORMAL is brave and has an amazing score but is not a show that will pep you up on your birthday. BILLY ELLIOT is fantastic. IN THE HEIGHTS is very, very fun. And these are just the musicals.

  14. If you want a setup for a night of partying, then Hair is the clear winner. If you just want a really good show to invest in, n2n is the show. If you want to jump on the bandwagon, Billy Elliot. Really you can’t go wrong. Personally- if I had to only see one again (yes, I’ve seen all 3), I would go with Next to Normal. Amazing.

  18. One of my favorite musicals. I saw Hair at Shakespeare in the Park last summer and loved it. Saw it again on Broadway and loved it. If you like the music and the story, you can’t go wrong.

  19. I saw 9 to 5 and it’s SO MUCH FUN!!
I loved it! The three main actresses are hilarious and the songs are good!
Rock of Ages is totally awesome. It’s cheesy and a jukebox musical like Mamma Mia! But come on! a musical featuring 80s hair metal music?!?!? It’s hilarious and very entertaining!

  22. Thanks for the suggestions, guys. I ended up seeing Hair and it was amazing–though I was pissed Sasha Allen wasn’t there–it was her understudy. Next on my list is Next to Normal and The Temperamentals.
