lmao rotf! ok, for a few seconds there i thought it was serious.. “thanks TV” *as he shakes his head NO* See, I dont have a fag hag kinda sucks, but I wont put up with their bullshit so I guess thats why.
I have a friend at work who loves gay guys, she’s been around them most of her life. She’s almost 60yrs old now but back in the day she would party hard with them. It bothers her that I’m not that way, I don’t talk fashion and hair, I don’t want to go out shopping with her. She is always saying lets go do this or that, or talk about how cute some guy is who just walked by. I’m very shy and a private person. I hate that because I’m gay I’m expected to do these things. I have female friends who ask what I think of their hair or what they are wearing, I usually just say “oh that’s cute” but they want more, but I don’t have anymore to offer. Show’s like Queer Eye have really perpetuated this stereotype about us.
YES! Lynx hit it on the nose.. I guess I’m lucky though, girls dont do this to me. Then again I’m rather odd for a gay guy. My geekyness far outweighs my gayness lol
Though on the surface this can be funny for the indiscriminate viewer, its actually kinda offensive for people who are gay but don’t seem themselves as a stereotypical gay. Roles, such as fashion expert, and being flashy and hip put pressure on a lot of gay guys who are still figuring out who they are. Though all the qualities that were listed as stereotypical were positive, it’s still setting an arbitrary standard for what a true a gay should be. I get that it was a joke, but, things like this do more harm than fun, by subconsciously perpetuating social roles that we have to fit into.
If there is anything I have to agree with on that video, is that we do seem to have a type of otherworldly magic when it comes to certain things. Some of us are great with fashion and hair others with decorating, and some with attracting men of any orientation. Then there are those bitches who have all these powers, lol. There’s nothing wrong with the flamboyant type that can talk clothes and hair but I just hate when women expect me to be one of their girlfriends and act shocked when I don’t want to go out shopping or go out to the gay clubs at night. It’s just not me. The only thing it has gained me is a inside look at how women think and feel about men. The real truth. I work with so many women that sometimes I feel like I’m having a menstrual cycle the same time they do.
lmfao, the end, “I’m cured I’m cured!” was just priceless!!! too true!

Huh? The whole point of the video was poking fun at the stereotypes. The whole point was that they’re not always true.
You’re really not making sense.
