Barack Obama Is Our New President!

Barack Obama is our new President, ladies and gents!!!! I’ve been crying so hard since I heard the news.
After the past eight years we’ve had to endure, and the pain of the last two elections, I could not be more ecstsatic.
Who would’ve thought a black man named Barack Obama could not only win, but win the swing states AND turn red states blue?!
To all of the readers in other countries, I know you couldn’t vote, but thank you so much for your emotional support, we thank you for your support in trying to help us elect Obama!
Cheers, everyone!

I too shed some tears during his speech. I am a white male, and I am still disgusted by the right wong attempt to scare us all.
I was also encouraged by his inclusion of the GLBT community in his acceptance speech.
This will be an era of “change”.

Anonymous, “but this guy is not what people think, he has link with know terrorist and he will sunk us into darkness”, really? Think about Osama Bin laden and Bush. whenever Bush ‘needs’ help, like he almost lost in the vote last time, Osama suddenly appeared and threated American, then Bush won, then Osama disappeared. When American distrusted Bush, Osama came up with the 9/11, then Bush becamse ‘the hero’ of American. how coincidence it was!!! Who has link with terrorist, guess!!! Use your brain, buddy. or maybe Bush brainwashed you and u can’t even think!

Lazy people on welfare? Pretty sure welfare was created long before Obama was elected, and I’m not sure how it would be changed now that he is….So…what are you talking about?

Brian, Why don’t you understand the bickering. Just because Bush was President it didn’t stop all the complaining for the last 8 years. People didn’t stop bickering then so I doubt very seriously that it will happen again. As to Obama I agree with so many others. The man is not who so many think he is. He is just another lying politician who told people what they wanted to hear so he could get the office. I didn’t vote for Obama and I didn’t vote for McCain. I refused to vote either one of the turds shitted out of the asses of the 2 political parties this year. Both were bad choices and both would and will make bad Presidents.
I guess there is no place to go anymore to get away from this political shit. Even the place I come to relax and get off has to get political.

I second that Chris. I don’t understand why people have to get so up in arms about this subject. Nobody put a gun to his head and told him he needed to read this post. With that said, I feel we as a nation really need to support our new president no matter what political party we are affiliated with. He is going to need our help and we cannot be a divided nation if we are going to overcome the mess that this country is in right now.

I think it’s hard for people to support our President when many people still seem to think he’s a Muslim terrorist racist commie.

That’s because people are ignorant and like to form opinions about people who they feel threatened by because of a person’s name, or because they are different and not the stereotypical “American President” and do not check their facts first.

no jay…..the reason people think these things about obama is because of the way he lets it show…..what kills me is that we will elect a president who has hardly any experience because of what the fucking press says……i also agree with the anonymous guy from before….he will be good for taxing the shit out of us to pay for the people who do nothing…..but i also agree that it doesnt matter now…..he is the president….so lets just live with it

I find it so funny that now that Obama is in there people are saying that now we need to come together and support our President when many have been saying that the last 8 years. but now everyone is supposed to forget all the name calling that took place both to the President but to the Republicans. Why can’t we be divided now. We have been divided for the last 8 years. A Democrat running the nation won’t change that. The stone has already been set – the division has already been made – and it is not going to just go away overnight.

Taxing the shit out of “us”? Are you telling me you make $200,000 a year?
And as to Anonymous’ point, I also see hypocrisy in the Republicans who said we shouldn’t criticize Bush because he’s President, and we’re in a time of war, but now that a liberal’s in office, they’re already screaming impeachment before he’s even done anything yet.
And we elected him because of what the press says? What does that even mean? We elected him because we believe in his judgment and policies, which were way better for middle class Americans (and gay Americans by the way) than John McCain’s.

Mary, I totally agree with you about the hypocrisy on the Republican side. It is on both sides. It makes me sick. I get so tired of this one saying this side is wrong or is the bad one and the other side turns around and acts the same way or worse.
I don’t trust any politician. I think they are the scum of the earth. And I totally hate the 2 political parties. I registered when I was 18 as a Democrat. I changed that to Republican 10 years ago and 4 years ago I reregistered as an Independent. I do not want my name associated with either party. They both suck the big one and have caused more harm to America than any other force in the last 10 to 15 years.
People wonder why we are divided – look at the politicians and the political parties that are ruling our country. This time when I voted I voted Independent all the way down the ballot. I did not vote for one Dem or one Rep. I do not respect them at all. And unless big changes come about I will never respect them again.
This last campaign the followers of both candidates operated one of the dirtiest campaigns ever. And that has further made me hate both parties for the hypocrisy that is there. and this yelling of let’s all ban together now to support our President because he is Obama is just another round of the hypocrisy that they spew out of the mouths on a daily basis.

I’m an Obama supporter myself. Primarily, I’m just glad that U.S’s overall history was changed as of November 4th. Obama, being the first African American president. The way I see this, this only puts hope in many eyes, and disaster in others.
I also recall hearing a very good statement from Obama. He is against Homosexual Marriage, but he finds banning it unconstitutional. Now thats gotta say alot for many of us here.
I guess we’ll just have to wait things out. Although, I know for a fact that (This is primarily for McCain supporters) Obama won’t just let Terrorists come bomb the country and let us all be isolated. There is a chance that Obama could actually stop terrorist plots and actually help us more than he could destroy us. But we’ll just have to wait it out and stay on-top of news.

Correction “Brian” – he is not the President. Even for Obama there can only be one president at a time and until January 20, he is just the president-elect. Bush is STILL the president.
And for all the rest of this BS “he’s a great man” blah blah blah and “get your facts straight” blah blah blah. How do any of YOU know HE is a great anything? You know NOTHING about this man other than what the press tells you and what you’ve seen on TV. You know him personally? Known him for years? I think not.
And facts? It’s amazing how those who know the least, are the first ones to tell OTHERS to get it right, together, etc. Come on folks, who is fooling who? This country is headed into a bigger mess than Bush could have ever dreamed of creating. . wait and see as your rights are removed from you, one single right at a time. There has been so much Kool Aid consumed by all you suckers it’s down right scary. And sad.

Me and my boyfriend were very thrilled that Obama won. It’s great for America to have a man of his vision (universal health care, LGBT rights, education and taxes regarding the economy) get elected as President of the United States of America. So many people i know were crying as he was announced the winner. Although i wasn’t crying, i felt a sense of pride.

Just as people on here are saying no one knows about the president-elect and are only going by what the press says, the same can be said about about them NOT knowing for a FACT that he is going to be a terrible president. Of course everyone is going to have their political views, but at the end of the day, he will be the next president and we can only go by what he personally has sad thus far.

it seems to be the very party that bush is in has begun the stripping of rights, ie patriot act, gay marrige ban, pro life stance, etc.
in other words DON’T FUCK WITH US and wait till you see the kind of President Obama will be, then tell me what you think about him.
